Five new coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Luton over the past 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health England.

The total number of infections in the borough now stands at 1,527 (+5).

Elsewhere in the county, Central Bedfordshire has 1,262 (+1) cases while Bedford's figure stands at 1,312 (+7).

Across the country, there have been 297,914 infections at an increase of 770 over the past 24 hours.

45,677 people have died with coronavirus in the UK, up by 123 since yesterday.
