Emergency services help free trapped man following collision on A507 near Clophill
A man was airlifted to hospital after sustaining serious leg injuries in a car crash on the A507 near Clophill on Wednesday (October 8).
The collision between a car and a lorry took place at 8.30am with the road closed in both directions for several hours.
Fire crews from Ampthill and Kempston used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man from the car. He was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance.
Graeme Tolliday, assistant general manager for the East of England Ambulance Service, who attended the scene said: "The patient was severely trapped in the car on our arrival.
"Our team of paramedics worked very closely with the fire service and air ambulance crew to treat and stabilise the patient."
A full collision investigation is being carried out by police.
