Students across Bedfordshire pick up their exam results
Students at Redborne Upper School have been described as "fantastic" after delivering the school's best ever set of GCSE results.

From the class of 2008 at the Ampthill school, 80 per cent gained at least five A* to C grades, while 70 per cent managed five A* to C grades including Maths and English.

Star performer was Laurence Alexander, who earned 11 A*s plus one A grade, while schoolmate Jack Gribbin returned ten A*s and one A, and also earned a B when he sat his AS-Level exam in biology a year early.

Hannah Molyneux managed eight A* and two A grades, while Will Clark and Katherine Jeffs both took home eight A*s and a pair of As.

Headteacher Nigel Croft said: "These are the best results in the school's history, they are fantastic.

"We are delighted, so well done to all the staff and students. Everyone has worked very hard to produce these very good results. Added to last week's A-level results this has been a very good week for the school."
