Three men threatened cabbie in Kempston

A taxi driver was threatened with a gun during a robbery in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened at around midnight in the car park of the Mulberry Bush pub in Orchard Street, Kempston.

Three Asian men approached the driver and asked how much a fare would cost, but before he could answer one of them punched him in the face.

The offenders, one of whom was wearing a balaclava, then opened the door and repeatedly kicked him before threatening him with the handgun and demanding cash. The taxi driver handed over £55 before the three offenders walked away towards The Links.

Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or has information about the offenders should contact Det Con Ian Johnson at Greyfriars CID on 01234 275351.
