Did you see black Citroen Saxo?

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a road traffic collision on Thursday morning.

It happened on the A6 road just south of Clapham at around 0850 hours.

A black Citroen Saxo, which was travelling towards Clapham, was in collision with a cyclist and a blue Ford Fiesta, both of which were travelling towards Bedford.

The 34-year-old cyclist was taken to Bedford Hospital for treatment to serious injuries where he remains in a critical condition. No-one else was injured.

Officer in charge, PC Simon Hood, of the Collision Investigation Unit, has urged any witnesses to come forward and speak to him.

PC Hood said: "It is possible that the Saxo had just completed an overtaking manoeuvre prior to the collision. I would appeal for anyone who remembers being overtaken by a black Citroen Saxo as they were driving towards Clapham that morning to contact me urgently."

Anyone with information relating to this collision can contact PC Hood at the Collision Investigation Unit on 01234 842469.
