STOPSLEY’S Coffee Express celebrates its fifth anniversary this month and owners Angela and Stuart Dewar toasted their customers with a special cuppa.
Former IT consultant Angela (left) says many have become friends and the independent shop in St Thomas Road is now firmly established as a convenient meeting place for the community.
She said: “When we opened in 2006 our aim was to provide freshly prepared food with quality coffee.
“Everything is still prepared to order and a lot is home-made – specially our cakes, which are very popular.”
Coffee Express won five stars in the Council’s Scores on the Doors scheme in 2009.
Angela encourages customers to donate to charity. There are collection tins for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
“My dad died of MND so that’s particularly close to my heart,” she said.
