Have a say on benefit changes

editorial image

PEOPLE can have their say on changes to council tax benefits at a Town Hall event tomorrow evening (Thursday).

Luton Borough Council needs to save money so that it can continue to provide its current level of council tax benefit to low earners when changes come in next April.

Councils will see their government funding for council tax benefit cut by 10 per cent, and Luton councillors say they will need to save £2.5million elsewhere so that people’s benefits are not affected.

The consultation event takes place in the council chamber, starting at 6pm.
