The snow keeps falling as traffic negotiates Chapel Street, passing the then Westminster Bank premises to the right.

Police in attendance when a van and car collide at the junction of Stuart Street and King Street in February 1947. Less than 25 years later the old King Street Congregational Church and the Stuart Street buildings had all been demolished.

The harsh winter of 1947 blanketed George Street in snow, but the town still bustled. This view was taken from the Town Hall looking towards the Corn Exchange.
