Police warning to watch out for cold callers

POLICE are reminding residents to be extra cautious when buying alarms over the telephone.

The warning comes after a number of residents in the Luton area contacted the force as they were concerned after receiving calls from alarm companies saying they had been endorsed by the police.

Crime Reduction Officer, Lara Curtayne, would like to advise all residents that Bedfordshire Police does not endorse or promote any company or service.

Advice to stop cold calling is also available at www.which.co.uk/technology/phones/guides/ten-tips-to-stop-cold-calls.
