SLIDESHOW: St George's Day Festival at Wrest Park

Re-enactment sees Jason Kingsley enter the dragon's den for the classic duel between man and beast

Slaying dragons twice a day proved to be child's play for a Bedford man who took on the role of St George for a legendary battle.

Jason Kingsley stepped forward as Bedfordshire's knight in shining armour at English Heritage's 12th St George's Day Festival, at Wrest Park, Silsoe, last weekend.

As well as seeing the reenactment of the classic duel between man and beast, patriots could also try their hand at some traditional English games, revel in falconry and fire-eating displays or just a leisurely browse round a historic craft market.
