A Luton fish and chippie is well placed to be crowned regional Independent Takeaway of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards.

The Wigmore Fish & Chips is one of five shops shortlisted in Central and Southern England.

Owner Andreas Kyriacou, who has been shortlisted before, said: “People hear about your success and become curious about the food.”

The regional winner will be announced in October.
