'Don't throw your old catalogues into landfill,' says council

Busy time of year for retail shouldn't mean more rubbish in the ground
Fashion chains across the UK may be bombarding their customers with new catalogues this month, but that's no reason to throw the old ones into landfill.
That was the message from South Beds District Council, who this week reminded householders that old catalogues can be recycled.
Putting them into orange bins can help cut down on the huge volumes of rubbish being put into the ground.
Recycling officer Sarah Molloy said: "Many of these catalogues use a lot of paper and responsible companies like Argos are reminding their customers to make sure the old ones are put in the recycling bin too.
"If you do put an old catalogue in your orange bin or bag, then South Beds District Council will make sure it gets recycled for you."
