Concerts will be music to the ears of visitors
Fun for all the family is in store this weekend, at the Dunstable Music Festival 2008.

Two free open-air concerts and one ticket-only indoor event have been lined up for this year's music weekend.

The festival starts on Friday, August 29, with the Latin, rock and blues sounds of tribute band Viva Santana, at the ticket-only concert.

It's all happening at the Grove Theatre at 7.30pm, and the event will be celebrating the music of Carlos Santana.

Call the box office on 01582 602080, or click here for information about ticket availability.

Dunstable Town Council organises the music weekend, previously known as the Dunstable Folk Festival.

Free concerts will go ahead in Grove House Gardens on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

Acclaimed rock and blues band The Hamsters will be the headline act at the big Saturday night concert. Support bands will be the Grapevine Blues Band and Sons Of The Soil.

The concert starts at 5pm in the Grove House Gardens performance area, off High Street North.

On Sunday, the mood changes with an afternoon of mellow jazz and the big band sound.

This concert starts at 2pm, again in the performance area in Grove House Gardens.

And the crowds will be entertained by the smooth sound of the Sheela Munro Jazz Band, funk jazz from Kaizen and big band music from The String Of Pearls.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
