Youngster left injured and shaken
Police are investigating an unprovoked attack which left a 12-year-old Dunstable schoolgirl with concussion.
The incident happened on Monday, June 29, at around 4pm when Katie Neal was walking with schoolfriends to buy an ice cream.
A dark metallic turquoise car with three youths in, aged about 17, drove past the girls laughing and then turned round and passed them again.
This time one of the gang threw a plastic bottle of water out of the window which hit Katie on the head.
Unfortunately because the drama happened so quickly the girls were not able to get a description of the attacker.
Her mum Sally Murrer, who was picking her up from nearby Streetfield Middle School, was shocked to find her daughter drenched in water and shocked by what had happened.
She said: "It was horrible. It was a huge impact to the head. She is still feeling quite shaken. It was a terrible shock."
The girl was taken to hospital later in the evening with concussion and has since been released after being observed for several hours.
After the attack the car continued to follow one of the victim's friends to her house in Churchill Road.
Despite not having any clear descriptions, one of the youngsters did notice that one of the youths, sitting in the back of the car, was wearing a yellow rubber glove on one hand.
