Open invitation to special session

The next Dunstable session offering motorists the chance to have tamper-proof screws fitted to number plates will now go ahead sooner than planned.

Police will be outside Sainsbury's, in Luton Road, between noon and 3pm on Tuesday, September 2.

The previously planned session outside Tesco on September 18 has been cancelled.

Free tamper-proof screws are fitted under the Beds Police car accessory protection scheme, called CAPS.

Other sessions are in the pipeline for October, November and December.

Anyone with information about number plate theft can contact police, in confidence, on 01234 841212 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
