The force was with fun fair in the sun

Visitors to Lancot Lower School found themselves rubbing shoulders with the likes of Darth Vader and Jedi Knights.

All the characters were at the Dunstable school's annual fete, posing for photographs with youngsters.

Other attractions at the Lancot Drive school included a children's fun fair, face painting, bouncy slide and a selection of food stalls.

Crowds basked in brilliant sunshine as they enjoyed the attractions.

Around £2,015 was raised from the day, which will be spent on a new eco project at the school.

Organisers would like to thank everybody who helped make the day possible including sponsors, businesses who advertised the event, and people who donated prizes.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
