At a time when teenagers across the country are getting a bad press, Dunstable has a crop of teenagers to be proud of.
That's according to chiefs at the area's Air Training Corps, who singled out the town's cadets for a special community prize thanks to all their hard work.
Members of the 460 (Dunstable) Squadron, who are based in Victoria Street, picked up the prestigious Citizenship Shield at a ceremony in Cambridgeshire, after beating off competition from numerous other units.
They impressed judges after helping out at a number of events in Dunstable, and their officer in command, Flt Lt Mick Bell, was delighted.
He said: 'It's absolutely brilliant. This is the second year running that we've won it.
