Timing right for unlocking Rep’s farce

Those funsters at Dunstable Rep have cooked up Key For Two, a wickedly amusing play bound to get you giggling as it descends into chaos and hysteria.

Key For Two centres on a divorcee living in an elegant flat in Brighton who solves her financial problems by entertaining two married gentlemen callers on different days of the week.

The scheme faces collapse when her friend Anne, whose marriage is tottering, arrives at the flat hotly pursued by her husband.

One of Harriet’s lovers is confined to her bed with a sprained ankle and the second lover turns up unexpectedly, closely followed by two irate wives in search of their itinerant husbands.

The indescribable confusion that ensues builds to a rich complexity of mistaken identity, splendidly farcical situations and a climax of comic wizardry.

Director Anne Davis said: “This comedy borders on farce and demands good timing. We have a totally dedicated cast and rehearsals have been hilarious.

“Add to that a fantastic set build team creating our splendid Brighton flat and this play will have everyone rolling in the aisles.”

Anne and her cast of seven have been hard at work rehearsing since before Christmas, and the Rep are bound to deliver a post-Christmas cracker .
