Monarch takes Macmillan fundraising to new heights

Macmillan Cancer Support’s world’s biggest coffee morning reached for the sky on Friday.

More than 24,000 passengers on board 55 Monarch flights were invited to contribute to the charity by buying a cup of half-price Kenco coffee.

All profits from the 38,000 ft fundraiser will be donated to Macmillan.

Monarch MD Kevin George said: “Our cabin crew and customers were pleased to be able to take Macmillan’s flagship event to new heights.”

A Macmillan spokeswoman said: “It’s a really unusual way of supporting us! We hope everyone onboard enjoyed taking part and helping the Macmillan team.”
