Wild about garden
L12-1270 Stockwood Discovery Centre, London Road, Luton, Chantry Primary School, making a wildlife garden. Connie Primmer JR 43 22.10.12
Children from Chantry Primary School visited Stockwood Discovery Centre to help plant 200 flowers in the New Wildlife Garden on Monday.
The green-fingered-pupils picked up some tips for their own wildlife habitat at their school which they are about to start work on.
Blossoming gardeners from Sacred Heart Primary School’s Dads’ Group also visited the centre on Saturday to plant seedlings. The Wildlife Garden, funded by WREN and LBC area committee, will showcase the different wildlife habitats found in the local area that often go unnoticed, including a woodland glade, a chalk down and a bog garden.
The project involves Groundwork, the Bedfordshire Bat group, and advice from RSPB and local volunteers.
