Partygoer seriously injured

An alleged confrontation outside a Luton nightspot left a partygoer with a serious leg injury at the weekend.

Police have confirmed that a doorman at Bellini in Chapel Street has been arrested and released on bail after the fracas in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers are now hoping witnesses can shed some light on what happened.

A Beds Police spokeswoman said the matter is being investigated by Luton detectives, who are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 12.45am, and the victim was taken to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital.

Police say a 25-year-old was arrested but had not been charged.

Anyone who saw the incident should call Det Con Mark Hughes on 01582 401212.

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
