Board members decide how to spend millions of pounds of development cash
If you want to have a say in how millions of pounds of government cash is being spent in Luton's Marsh Farm area, now's the time to throw your hat into the ring.
Elections for directors of the board of the Marsh Farm Community Development Trust are being held in September.
Anyone aged 18 or over living on the estate can put themselves forward as candidate. Voting is open to all residents aged 18 or over.
The trust manages the cash Marsh Farm receives from the government's New Deal for Communities programme, and has so far spent more than £30 million on improving the estate.
The trust will cease operating in March 2011, when the programme comes to an end.
Montell Neufville, who is managing the election, said: 'This is the final opportunity for people to stand for election to the board of the trust and represent the views and needs of their community.
'Local residents still have a very important role to play and we need board directors who are keen and passionate about improving Marsh Farm.'
All homes on the estate will receive a voting form and a candidate application form this month. For more information contact Montell on 01582 512555 or email montell.neufville@mfcdt.co.uk
