Now Luton team will compete for national title

UK Carnival Arts Centre in Luton has been named the most enterprising place in the East of England.

The centre won the regional heat of this year's Enterprising Britain competition, and will now go on to compete for the national title.

Since February, the East of England Development Agency has been searching for projects where enterprise has helped transform a community's fortunes, both socially and economically, and where entrepreneurial partnership has helped secure a prosperous future for the local area.

The Luton Carnival Arts Development Trust was one of seven organisations to present their achievements to a panel of expert judges, and won as a result of the team's passion and entrepreneurial spirit.

UK Centre for Carnival Arts, was recognised for its aim of providing a dedicated arts centre to develop and promote carnival arts internationally and embrace the cultural diversity of Luton through enterprise.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
