Luton's first all-women Midnight Walk
A girl's night out will never be the same again after midnight on Saturday, September 6.

That's when The Pasque Charity's inaugural Midnight Walk takes place. The Herald&Post is proud to be part of this exciting new charity challenge.

A team from The Warden Pub in New Bedford Road and Whitbread head office have already signed up for the 10-mile circular route from Wardown to Wigmore and back again. And they're hoping to encourage 500 more local women to join them on this unique mini-marathon.

The Midnight Walk is not only about raising funds for the vital work done by the charity's adult and children's hospices, it's also about women getting together to have fun, feel fit and enjoy some stimulating all-sisters-together exercise .

Events fundraiser John Helm said: "We're really excited to be bringing the first Midnight Walk to Luton, an event we believe the community will feel really proud of.
"And whether people walk with friends, family, colleagues or simply on their own, they're sure to feel a real sense of unity and team spirit on the night."

He added: "Our challenge at the charity is to keep raising enough money to maintain the quality of care we provide to patients - young or old - with terminal illnesses.
"The Midnight Walk could be a personal challenge for people to work towards but the important thing is that everyone who takes part will be making a real difference to the lives of others."

The event will start at midnight on Saturday, September 6 from Barnfield College's New Bedford Road site. There'll be a warm-up session first before walkers head off through the town centre, up to Wigmore, round Stopsley village, down Stockingstone Road and back along the Old Bedford Road towards Barnfield.

To register or for more information go to www.pasque.org/midnightwalk, email events@pasque.org or call John Helm on 01582 497849.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
