A man has been threatened at gunpoint and forced to hand over the key to his Audi convertible.
He had just parked his car in Birchen Grove, Luton, at 8.45pm on Monday night, August 20, when two men approached him, forced him to hand over the key and then got into the black Audi and drove off.
The Audi was found the following day at 8pm, parked close to The Beer Engine in Bute Street in Luton.
Both robbers are described as black men with their faces covered. The first man, armed with a handgun, was about 6ft 2ins tall, wearing a padded black jacket, dark trousers and blue Nike trainers. The second was shorter and wore dark clothing.
A second car, a green Vauxhall Tigra, was found abandoned in Birchen Grove after the robbery and police believe it may be connected to the robbery.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Zara Carr urged anyone with information to come forward and speak to her.
Det Con Carr said: "The victim was uninjured during this ordeal but shocked by what had happened.
"Our priority is to locate any potential witnesses and if anyone saw something suspicious, and hasn't already spoken to a police officer, we would urge them to contact us. Any information no matter how insignificant it may seem could be vital to this investigation."
Police are asking these questions:
- Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the Birchin Grove area prior to the robbery?
- Did you see a green Vauxhall Tigra being left in Birchin Grove?
- Did you witness the robbery?
- Did you see the black Audi convertible when it was found in Bute Street?
- Did you see who left the Audi in Bute Street?
Anyone with information can contact DC Carr, in confidence, at Luton Police Station, on 01582 394333, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
