Police appeal for witnesses

A motorcyclist died after colliding with two parked cars in a street in Farley Hill, Luton, on Saturday.

Ambulance crews were called to the accident in Rotheram Avenue just after 3.15pm, but despite their efforts to save the 23-year-old man he was pronounced dead at Luton & Dunstable Hospital.

A police spokesman said two cars, a Jaguar and a Citroen, both of which were parked in Rotheram Avenue, were damaged in the collision.

The name of the Luton motorcyclist has not yet been released, but an inquest into the death is due to be opened shortly.

The officer in charge of investigating the collision, PC Terry Nesbitt, has appealed for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with any information should call 01234 842469.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
