Stock up on popcorn and clear your diary, because Filmstock is back

Luton's very own international film festival at the Hat Factory, in Bute Street, kicks off on November 6, and there is a mammoth collection of more than 150 flicks from 26 different countries for you to choose from.

And the ninth instalment of the town's annual favourite is a bit more personal this year for Filmstock's co-creator Justin Doherty, as his top movie, Don't Look Now, is on the line up. It's a special anniversary screening of Nicolas Roeg's unique and haunting drama, starring Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, 35 years after it was made. He said: "It's my favourite film of all time. It's what made me want to make films and got me where I am today."

Another highlight is Him, Tarzan a presentation about legendary Tarzan actor and famous swimmer Johnny Weissmuller, followed by a classic Tarzan adventure. And fans of Fight Club will be waiting with bated breath for Filmstock's opening flick Choke, written by Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk and starring The Green Mile actor Sam Rockwell.

There is also a fantastic array of shorts and features, with a impressive selection of world beers alongside at the bar. For a full programme and ticket information visit www.filmstock.co.uk

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
