Indian food business awarded top marks after hygiene inspection

It has only been in Luton town centre for seven weeks, but The Raj indian restaurant has already made a good impression on the town.

Because the newly opened eaterie, in Adelaide Street, has just received top marks in the Town Hall Scores On The Doors food hygiene scheme.

Luton Borough Council inspectors visited the food spot three weeks ago, and awarded it five stars for the way it is operated as well as food quality.

Restaurant manager Jomir Ali said: 'I was quite impressed. It's not easy to get five stars. My staff are very proud. They are happier than myself to be honest! It's a good impression of our work and our standards.'

The Raj now plans to proudly display its food hygeine certificate for customers to see.
