Stockwood Discovery Centre is a gardener's paradise
Celebrity gardener Charlie Dimmock had no need to get weeding on Saturday when she visited the beautiful gardens at the new Stockwood Discovery Centre.

The former presenter on BBC's Ground Force met green-fingered garden enthusiasts both young and old who had come along for the opening ceremony of the new attraction.

The centre is intended to be a paradise for gardeners, with features including a sensory garden, a colourful world garden and a medicine garden. In addition, the museum houses collections that include rare medieval artefacts and the Mossman collection of carriages, the largest of its kind on display in the UK.

Museums Luton director Maggie Appleton said: "Our new discovery centre will offer something for everyone: a stroll through the gardens, a museums visit or fun in the play area.

"With its exciting new features, it is a real jewel in Luton's crown and a visitor attraction of regional importance."

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
