Songs Of Praise presenter Pam Rhodes is the latest celebrity to back the Luton News and Dunstable Gazette appeal in aid of The Pasque Charity's Building For Better Care. The best-selling author and Pasque patron has made an impassioned plea to local residents to get behind the appeal.
She said: "Access to high quality palliative care is essential for every community. The bottom line is that none of us ever know when it might be our family or friends who need the superlative attention which the Pasque will be able to provide once the building is complete - hopefully by next spring.
"When we're faced with the prospect of losing the ones we love, their care and comfort is paramount. So every penny raised is more than worthwhile. That's why we're hoping people right across our local community will get behind this appeal."
Build For Better Care is the adult hospice's most important development since its opened its doors to local people in 1991. The £2.6 million project comprises a new wing which will provide eight en suite bedrooms for in-patients and allow the Pasque to update its existing building with state-of-the-art facilities.
