Richard Baker leaves by 'mutual agreement'

Luton Hoo general manager Richard Baker is no longer employed by the hotel's owners, Elite Hotels, it has been announced.

He parted company with the five star hotel by 'mutual agreement' on Thursday, a day after The Luton News exclusively revealed that he was on a leave of absence after allegations from members of staff.

The abrupt termination of his employment follows revelations that the father-of-two was on 'leave of absence' after serious allegations from members of staff.

In a short statement, Elite Hotels' managing director Greame Bateman said: "Richard Baker left the employment of Elite Hotels on Thursday, July 16. This was the result of a mutual agreement.

"Matthew Long, who has been with Elite Hotels since 2003, has been appointed general manager of Luton Hoo, Hotel Golf & Spa."
