Police release CCTV footage in hunt for gang

This young man was caught on CCTV attempting to rob a bus driver.

The failed robbery happened on the number 12 Arriva service in Church Street, Luton.

A dispute broke out between the offender, his two friends and the driver as they tried to pass a ticket between them.

This escalated with the main offender threatening the driver, punching the protective screen which separated them and demanding cash.

At this point the driver decided to drive away and the trio jumped off the bus.

The attempted robbery took place at 8.50pm on March 8 but police have only just released this CCTV footage.

If you recognise the man in the picture, please contact PC Mike Robinson at Luton Robbery Squad in confidence, on 01582 394169 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
