All three suffered with smoke inhalation

Two people and a dog were rescued by firefighters, after smoke from a shed blaze spread to their Luton home.

Crews were called to Wedgewood Road shortly after 1.30am on Thursday to find a blaze in the garden shed and the house heavily smoke logged.

One man had already managed to escape the property but had cut his hands on broken glass trying to get out.

A woman was rescued from the bedroom and a small puppy was also saved.

The trio were all suffering with smoke inhalation and both people were taken to Luton & Dunstable Hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the fire is underway.
