Police are appealing for witnesses to Luton assault
A vicious assault in Studley Road, Luton, has left a 39-year-old man with a fractured skull, a fractured cheekbone and a cut to his eye.

The victim was walking home alone from the town centre on July 8, between 8pm and 8.30pm when he became concerned that someone might be following him.

As he reached the entrance to Hadley Court, the man looked up and down Studley Road to see two men in a dark coloured vehicle.

The driver of the car asked the victim: "What are you looking at?" before getting out of the car and threatening him.

He then struck the victim on the left side of his face, knocking him to the floor, before driving off.

After the assault, the victim walked to Luton Police Station where officers called an ambulance to take him to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital.

The attacker is described as about 5ft 7ins tall, aged 25 to 30, of Asian appearance and of medium build.

He had short, spiky hair and was wearing glasses.

There was a second man in the car but he was not involved in the assault.

The victim cannot describe the car.

If you have any information, call PC Lee Anne Pogson on 01582 394283 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
