Renowned BBC war correspondent Kate Adie is coming to Luton to give her opinion about what goes on behind the media coverage of wars and conflicts around the world.
Entitled One Piece Of The Jigsaw, her lecture argues that television news viewers only get a fragment of the truth about war and conflict because the real nature of events in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere are being sanitised.
The talk will be held at the University Of Bedfordshire on May 15, to mark the opening of the Centre for International Media Analysis Research and Consultancy (CIMARC).
Formerly the Centre for International Media Analysis, the new CIMARC reflects the range of work now taking place and an increase in industry-led activity.
Its plans for future expansion and development include offering consultancy, training and research work to public and private institutions, both in the UK and abroad.
If you are interested in attending the lecture contact Charmaine Cummings on 01582 743393 or e-mail charmaine.cummings@beds.ac.uk
