Son seriously injured in collision tragedy
A woman and a dog were killed and her son was seriously injured in an horrific accident in Marsh Road, Luton.

The female pedestrian, aged 44, died instantly when she was in collision with a lorry at the traffic lights at the junction with Limbury Road and Archway Road.

The seven-year-old boy, who suffered multiple injuries, was trapped underneath the tipper truck for a short time.

He was released by firefighters and taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital where his condition was later stable.

His friend – a boy of similar age – received minor leg injuries and paramedics also treated a witness to the tragedy, who had fainted.

Police closed busy Marsh Road to traffic, set up diversions and cordoned off the accident scene to keep onlookers away following the accident, which happened shortly after 1pm on Tuesday.
