Striker departs as exodus gathers pace

Striker Calvin Andrew has signed for Championship outfit Crystal Palace.

The move had been on the cards for a short while but went ahead after the Hatters gave the transfer the all clear on Wednesday.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock said: "It's nothing like the £400,000 that has been reported, it's nowhere near six figures.

"We are pleased to have him because we don't have anybody like that in the squad."

Warnock wasted little time in getting Andrew involved with the frontman appearing as a second half substitute in the Eagles' 4-3 defeat of Aldershot Town last night (Thursday).

Andrew's move, which followed Darren Currie's switch to Chesterfield, could herald more departurtes from Kenilworth Road as Mick Harford seeks to balance the budget.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
