Northfields Technology College launches scholarship scheme

Dunstable Town FC, in partnership with Northfields Technology College, are setting up a full-time football academy.

Aimed at 16-18 year olds, the football scholarship scheme will give students the opportunity to train, while studying a range of sports subjects and qualifications at the college.

New Dunstable Town chairman Pete Burgoyne said: "This can only enhance our existing successful youth set-up which has already produced several first team players this season.

"Alongside the proposed ground redevelopment, this shows we are moving in the right direction. It's exciting times for the club at Creasey Park."

Keith Brown, head of Northfields Technology College, which holds the FA Charter Standard Development award, added: "The football scheme will be a terrific addition to the college's already excellent sports department."

Dunstable Town will be holding trials on Saturday, May 31 at Dunstable Leisure Centre for entry on to the scholarship scheme for next season and interested students who wish to attend should either ring the college for an application form on 01582 619700 or visit www.collegefooty.co.uk.
