Early form saves Jamie from defeat

Going to sleep in the fourth round almost condemned Jamie Boness to defeat on his professional bow.

The 25-year-old had looked good in the first three rounds, but was caught napping in the fourth which almost cost him the fight.

However, he managed to hold out for a 57-57 draw.

He said: "The first three rounds I thought were easy, but after, in the fourth, fifth and sixth, I lost my energy.

"I need more work in the gym. I was scheduled to do four three-minute rounds, but that was changed to six two-minute ones."
