Athletics round-up


Athletes from Boxfit Triathlon Club hit the cross-country races this weekend with good results.

Craig Halsey looked strong coming home as the first of the Boxfit team at the Ampthill 8km race, followed by coach Dave Coard.

Halsey clocked 31.11mins, Coard, 34.53mins, Richard Hoare, 35.44mins, Jaenette Walster, 40.15mins, Paula Nicol, 42.24mins, Emma Maggott, 47.08mins, Matt Rushton, 49.27mins, Deb Johnson, 50.06mins, Greer Kidney, 50.24mins, Donna Thomas, 52.35mins, and Ingrid Bacon, 52.40mins.

Boxfit's ladies, meanwhile, finished second in the women's team event.
