The force is with Luton Angling Club junior member Luke with record catch

On the adjacent River Ouse, Aaron Cooper had pike of 11lb 10oz and 10lb 8oz and George Gibson netted a good bag of roach and dace with the roach going to 10oz. Steve Briggs also had a good bag of roach with fish up to 8oz.

Despite the torrential rain, there was good turn out for the first of four Edwards Predator Challenge events at Biddenham. The first fish caught was a 1lb 8oz pike by James Bishop and the biggest fish of the day was a 2lb 6oz pike reeled in by Stephen Matthews. Gary Tuck, with 4lb 9oz, recorded the highest total weight. The second round takes place at Levendon Mill on Sunday, November 2.

This weekend Luton AC match men fish at the Ivinghoe Golf Range in the second round of the Club Knockout. Fishing is from 10am until 3pm.
Luton AC v Kings Langley AS, Lady Capel's: 2, Dave Batchelor, 5lb 12oz; 3, Bob Irving, 4lb 13oz.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
