Preparations for annual Kevin Duggan Golf Day under way

Preparations are in full swing once again for the annual Kevin Duggan Golf Day.

The event takes place on July 30 at Mentmore Golf and Country Club and raises money in memory of a teenager who died in a road crash in 1998.

Kevin Duggan was just 18 when he was killed by a drunk driver. Since then his dad Declan, who runs the White Swan pub in Dunstable, has held the golf day to raise cash which has enabled the Kevin Duggan Golf Academy to be set up at Stockwood Park.

The popular annual event is now in its tenth and final year. Once the golfing action is over the entertainment gets under way at the pub.

The deadline for any teams who want to enter the golf day is Monday.
Anyone who would like more details about entering, or who would like to make an auction or raffle donation, should contact Declan on 01582 667833.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
