Bronze for Cardinal Newman School pupil
Bedfordshire & Luton Schools athletics team produced a number of outstanding individual performances at the English Schools Athletics Championships in Gateshead at the weekend.
The team collected the senior boys' trophy in addition to two gold, silver and bronze medals in what was an excellent all round effort.
Daniel Clorley claimed a bronze medal in the senior boys' 1,500m. The Cardinal Newman School pupil picked up the pace after a slow start and led going into the final stages before being outsprinted in the home straight.
Clorley's bronze was part of the Ernest Campion Trophy winning tally for the senior boys' team who finished as the leading minor county.
The inter boys team finished in the runners-up spot, while the squad finished in third place overall.
