Luton District and South Beds League round-up

Reigning Luton District and South Beds League premier division champions Stopsley Common maintained their 100 per cent record after beating close rivals for their title Lewsey Park 2-1. Two strikes from Karl Abella were enough to seal the win, Neil Fensome replied for Lewsey.

Luton Leagrave's miserable start continued with a 4-1 home reverse against Christians In Sport, Darren Foster was Leagrave's scorer.

Offley Social continued their climb up the table as they saw off Boater 2-1. On target for Offley were Jimmy Matthews and Mark Doran.

In the final game in the division, St Joseph's were comfortable winners 4-1 over Eaton Bray. Strikes from Shaun Foley and Donel Wright alongside a brace from Ian McGuinness did the damage. Paul Harris got Eaton Bray's consolation.

In division one, Christians In Sport IIs, who also boast a 100 per cent record, stayed top of the table following their comfortable 6-2 victory over Crown Sundon. Chris Carter scored once, Paul Jones grabbed a double and there was a hat-trick for Ben Henry.

The 61FC IIIs, meanwhile, with three wins out of four games, kept their push for the title going as they narrowly beat new team Farley Boys 1-0.

Stopsley Park overcame Sundon Park Rangers 5-2 with goals from Kenny Ivey, Jamie Gibbons and a hat-trick from Rob Wilson.

USL Galacticos' dream start finally came to an end with a 2-1 defeat to AFC Slip End. Having scored 33 goals in their last three games, USL could only muster one at the weekend, while John Clark and Thomas Leigh grabbed the winners for Slip End.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
