Harford also admits he wants Lewis Emanuel to stay at the club

Luton Town boss Mick Harford admitted he is definitely keen to sign midfielder Rossi Jarvis once, as expected, the club exit administration next week.

The former Norwich City star impressed Harford once again with an excellent performance in the friendly win at Bedford Town and is now expected to be one of the first players offered a contract by the Kenilworth Road club.

Harford said: "Rossi is one of the lads we're having a look at and a player we've had our eye on for a long time. Obviously we'd like to see if we can get ourselves in a position to take Rossi if and when we come out of administration, as we would a few other players."

On the comfortable win against their non-league neighbours, the Town boss said: "We started off very well and again, we fielded two teams in each half so it's difficult to maintain that early tempo but overall, it was competitive but pretty comfortable.

"As I said last week, it's about getting some fitness, graft and hard work into the players. But it was nice to keep a clean sheet and score a few goals."

Harford also reserved praise for out of contract defender Lewis Emanuel and admits he would ideally like to player to stay at the club, saying: "I thought Lewis Emanuel was very good today, he looks fit, he looks strong, he looks powerful. He is another one who is out of contract and a player we'd like to get re-signed."

Big Mick also gave Luton supporters an update on striker Sam Parkin, who had to be substituted after just half an hour of the team's match at the New Eyrie, following a bad clash of heads with home defender Stuart Wall and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Harford said: "Sam is doing fine, he's just nipped off to hospital for a few stitches but he'll train again on Monday and be ready for the game on Tuesday. He's a tough lad and that won't keep him out for long."

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
