Hatters deserved their slice of luck says boss
Town's stars did themselves proud as they put last week's disappointing 3-2 home defeat to Ebbsfleet behind them with another great win on the road.
Manager Richard Money was delighted with the way his team bounced back with a 1-0 victory at Barrow and said they must now replicate their good away form at home.
He said: "We knew we needed to get ourselves back on track. There was a lot of disappointment and a lot of things said after last week's home defeat to Ebbsfleet.
"They deserved an opportunity to put a bad day behind them and they've done that today.
"I genuinely felt this was a place for experience.
"We've been very professional away from home since I've been at the club and we have had some very good results.
"We have won the last three since the break which is important and it's four out of the last five, which is a little bit of momentum and hopefully we can back it up by getting a result on Tuesday."
Money pointed to the fact the Bluebirds have enjoyed great results against many of the top teams in the Blue Square Premier at Holker Street and felt they deserved any fortune that came their way - especially after hitman Liam Hatch scored the winner moments after Money had originally intended to replace him with Craig Nelthorpe, only to have to keep him on due to an injury to Claude Gnakpa.
He said: "Thankfully we got a bit of luck and it went our way.
"It was a good corner from Nico (Kevin Nicholls) and a great header from Hatch.
"I genuinely think we earned that slice of luck. I think we worked very hard for the result today.
"His (Hatch) hamstring was a little tight at half time.
"We spent the whole second half looking at him.
"He is a real warrior and wanted to stay on.
"He is a warrior, a real warrior and his goal epitomises that.
"I thought we thoroughly deserved the win, I can't remember Mark Tyler making one important save or them having a chance, but we've had plenty.
"I thought we had a few good chances early in the first half. You do think are we going to get one?
"You would say 0-0 wouldn't have been the worst result in the world today.
"The longer it went on you were just hoping we could take a goal somewhere.
"I thought we gave a thoroughly professional away performance at a real tough place.
"So that's a real big result for us and I thought we did it just about perfectly really."
And Money praised Luton's loyal army of travelling supporters who have seen the Hatters claim some great away results during his reign, saying: "They never cease to amaze me. I say that week in, week out, and they've given us great support on our travels."
At the final whistle Money gave his team talk on the pitch with his squad huddled around him and believes it has put Luton in good stead for the visit of table-topping Oxford United for a real six-pointer at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.
He said: "The whole team on the pitch together, it's the start of our next block of games.
"Does anybody think Oxford will be any tougher than this? I don't think so."
And he was hopeful that Gnakpa would be available, despite being forced off through injury, adding jokily: "I would be surprised if he wasn't available for Tuesday. Once the mist comes down and it gets cold Gnakpa likes to take his place in the dugout."
