Parrish leads the way for Icknield

Andy Parrish heads the standings in the Icknield Road Club Championship following a good ride at the North Midds and Herts CA 100-mile time-trial.

Parrish recorded a time of 4.50.14hrs which, along with his efforts over 50 miles and 12 hours, puts him ahead of Peter Harridge.

At the West London CA 50-mile time-trial, Harridge registered 2.10.21hrs, his slowest ride of the year at the distance.

Clive Corns clocked 24.22mins at the VTTA London Group 10-mile time-trial, which was held on the Leighton Buzzard bypass. In the same event, John Pfeifer covered the distance in 27.09mins.

Tim Davies travelled to the south coast to compete in the Bognor Regis CC 50-mile time-trial and recorded a personal best of 1.59.17hrs.

The Tuesday Evening League consisted of a 14-mile trip around the Maulden Village course.

Mark Sibley finished in a time of 41.01mins and Colin Holmes in 41.34mins.

Guest riders Gavin Rumbles of CC Luton and former member Rob Croke recorded times of 33.32mins and 40.26mins respectively.

In the junior seven-mile race, Achlan Howes crossed the line in 20.50mins, Bailey Anderson in 23.09mins, Callum Taylor in 27.05mins, Lauren Randall in 27.29mins and Robin Snelling in 32.59mins.

Alan Crane was the sole Team Sanjan Design member to compete in the VTTA 10-mile Time-Trial on the Leighton Buzzard bypass.

In windy conditions, Crane produced a solid ride to finish with a creditable time of 25.17mins.

At the weekend, three riders travelled to Nottinghamshire to ride in the Sherwood CC 10-mile time-trial.

At Long Bennington, Nick Pitt was the quickest of the trio in 21.39mins and he was followed by Andy Bright, 23.19mins, and Crane, 23.42mins.
