Hatters rated
Preston Edwards: 4 – Had little to do but almost costs the Hatters dear when he allowed himself to be robbed of the ball.
Claude Gnakpa: 7 – Keen to get forward at every opportunity. Big, strong and powerful and looks almost back to his best.
Shane Blackett: 6 – Started like a house on fire, but faded a little. However, the big defender looks like another good signing.
Kevin Gallen: 5 – Anonymous for large chunks of the game in midfield, but did thread some good balls through.
Alan White: 5 – Certainly offered some bulk to Luton's back line, but missed a few headers and always looked hurried on the ball.
George Pilkington: 6 – Reads the games so well and is truly Town's most all-round centre-half.
Adam Newton: 6.5 – His best game yet for the Hatters. Saw plenty of ball against his old club and always looked to get at the visitors.
Andy Burgess: 6 - Took too long on the ball on a number of occasions and was not quite as effective in the middle as out wide.
Drew Talbot: 6 – Both he and Tom Craddock looked isolated early on, but you always know what you're going to get from the former Wednesday striker.
Tom Craddock: 6.5 – Quieter than normal, but notched another goal and was unlucky to have a second chalked off for offside.
Jake Howells: 8 – Advanced into midfield and put in a fabulous performance. Showed some great touch, ran at his man, was neat and tidy and unlucky not to score.
David Wilkinson (sub): 5.5 – Did the basics well and did superbly to deny Danny Mills.
Kevin Nicholls (sub): 6 – Not as involved as normal, but will be one of the most incisive passers in the Blue Square Premier.
Ian Roper (sub): 5.5 – The big man was largely untroubled, but is another who could do with being calmer on the ball.
Callum Reynolds (sub): 6.5 – The on-loan Portsmouth youngsters made one breathtaking block to deny a certain goal and contributed all over the pitch.
Liam Hatch (sub): 7 – Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, but caused no end of problems for his former club after his introduction.
Jordan Patrick (sub): 6.5 – Looks like he will be quite some player. Showed great pace and burgeoning strength.
Keith Keane (sub): 4 – A terrible backpass almost cost Luton dear and uncharacteristically struggled to get involved in the game.
Asa Hall (sub): 6.5 – Took his goal ever so well and will always be a danger when he plays.
Adam Watkins (sub): 6.5 – Embodies all that is good about the club. Bright and busy and took his goal ever so well with his weaker foot.
