Passengers on a recent flight to Malta were treated to an impromptu performance from Oxford University’s a capella group Out of the Blue.

The 14-strong all-male outfit – which features former Harlington Upper pupil Ollie Nicholls – were heading to the popular tourist island to film an ad for British Airways Holidays.

Ollie, 20, of Westoning Road, joined the group when he went up to Oxford to read English three years ago.

He said: “Going to Malta was really exciting and really fun. We flew out for the weekend and stayed in a lovely hotel.

“BA asked us to sing a remake of Wham’s Club Tropicana. They’d seen us doing a vocal version of Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie which had five million hits on YouTube.”

BAH teamed up with the boys to coincide with the first holiday period of the year when most Brits feel the heat to book their summer getaway.

It’s next stop America for Ollie and the group who are jetting out on tour at Easter.
