Luton school children took a virtual reality trip around the world during half term when the Google Expeditions Pioneer Programme visited The Mall. It gave them a chance to explore everywhere from Mars and the Great Barrier Reef to the interior of Buckingham Palace without ever having to leave the town. The revolutionary technology allowed the youngsters to have a truly immersive experience through the use of special headsets. As it was based on the school curriculum, it was educational as well as entertaining.
Marketing manager Lavinia Douglass said: “The Google Expeditions Pioneer Programme was a really interesting event this half term.
“Our young shoppers were able to travel the world right here in The Mall and absolutely loved having the opportunioty to try virtual reality.”
